Until My Freedom Has Come
Zabirah Fazili
I shouted at him
Demanding
My right, dignity
And freedom.
He chocked me
With his weapons
Trying to silence me
With gunshots.
I resisted and
My resilience watched
With pride.
He shivered
As his gun fell down
And fears arose.
I stand here
As a free bird
And he, a prisoner
Of his fears.
