MEET TAHIR ARAHAN: A YOUNG KAS OFFICER

If you don’t believe in the mantra of trying again and again regardless of how many times you’ve already failed, maybe you ought to go through Tahir Arhan’s journey of becoming a KAS officer. The boy hails from a humble family in Machill of Kupwara district and did everything before making his dream come true. It is not difficult to imagine the life of an average student and predict his career but it is where most of the unexpected stories are written.

Tahir Mohiuddin (Tahir Arhan) did his early schooling from Rehmatealam Public School Kupwara and Islamia Model School. He joined Sainik School Manasbal in 6th standard. It didn’t go very well there due to some issues there before it’s administration was modified and he joined SSM Higher secondary school Paraypora and then Tyndale Biscoe in 11th later he did PCBM in  +2 but he didn’t appear in CET or AIEEE and went to UIM Dehradun for BBA. During his graduation, he got really worried about his career because BBA is a course which doesn’t demand much hard work or time and one has a lot of time to get worried about what to do? So, he started looking for Top B schools and the procedure to get into but couldn’t reach some decision. When he came back home, one of his cousins suggested him to prepare for civil service and he calculated its benefits and drawbacks. Without any further delay, he joined S N Das Institute and things worked in his favour. As they say ‘principle of favorability’ he cleared prelims and mains but couldn’t make it to finals just by 22marks.

Nevertheless, with the passage of time, it was a good experience to face failure. he moved to ALS Delhi and after three months he wrote his mains exam “I was confident but believe me civil service exam is a gambling table”. Tahir Arhan said in a humble tone that you need to be a good player who is lucky enough. Tahir Arhan cracked with 6th rank and what can be more surprising and celebrating than finding all your happiness in that single call from your friend that says ‘You made it’. After joining civil service he is very much motivated to help people and realise how humble job it is. Tahir added, “It was all due to the Almighty’s blessing, the prayers of my parents, the guidance of my teachers, the love my friends and those who added their role in my success.”

I suggest all the aspirants to kindly have faith in almighty Allah, Tahir added. Work hard towards your goal with focused determination and create a good environment in and around you. It is only a matter of a year or so that I might be reading your story next time while sitting in my office. Besides, hard work has never killed anybody. Be in touch with the people who always encourage and motivates you. While describing his feelings Tahir said, “The seeds of my success which I had sown last year had borne the fruits this year. That is how I can describe my feelings.” Tahir further added “Your success largely depends on how much kind enough God has been to you and that reciprocates how much humble and responsible you are to people. Your pure intentions, sincere efforts, smart preparation, disciplined life and down to earth nature.”

Tahir is presently posted at Singpora Baramulla as a Block Development Officer.
